Carol Mooney
Carol Mooney began teaching elementary school in 1974 in Anaheim and Fountain Valley before moving to Orange Unified School District in 1978. She taught English and social studies for nine years at El Rancho Middle School and transferred with the ninth graders to Villa Park High School in 1988, where she is currently teaching Advanced Placement English, Literature and Composition; is Language Arts Department Chair; and active in both BTSA and TIP (Teacher Innovative Program). Carol also taught Children’s Literature and various education courses at Chapman University as an Adjunct Professor from 1981-2006. She received the Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Award in 1999 and was named a Trustee Professor in 2000. Carol is a UCI Writing Project Fellow and has taught workshops and courses through the UCI School of Education. She was a Finalist for Orange County Teacher of the Year in 1982 and 2000.
