Jack Martin
Jack Martin is a true Californian, possessing ancestors living here since the 1830s; he never even set foot outside the state until he was thirty. Having spent most of his adult life as an aerospace attorney, he turned to writing mysteries as a means of preserving his sanity. He has published five novels to date, all dealing with the adventures of Alphonso Clay, a Civil War Union officer with terrible secrets of his own.
The first in the series is John Brown’s Body, dealing with a treasonous plot within Ulysses Grant’s army designed to thwart his capture of Vicksburg; the latest is Hail, Columbia, where Clay attempts to thwart a plot to control the economy of the United States. He is currently working on the first of a new series of historical novels, this one involving an attempt on the life of FDR.
