Jan Osborn

Dr. Jan Osborn is assistant professor in the Department of English where she teaches in the Writing and Rhetoric Program.  Dr. Osborn earned her Ph.D. at the University of California, Riverside and is also a graduate of the University of Michigan.  Prior to coming to Chapman University, she taught English in secondary public schools in Los Angeles and Orange counties, in community colleges in Michigan and California, and at State Prison Southern Michigan. She is the coordinator for the Chapman University/Orange High School Literacies Partnership, which includes the John Fowles Center Young Writers’ Workshop. Dr. Osborn also coordinates a community college collaborative with the Orange County Literary Society, introducing comment college students to contemporary authors. Her current work focuses on multilingual literacies and rhetoric.
