Richard Bausch
Richard Bausch is the author of eleven novels and eight collections of stories, including the novels In The Night Season, Hello To The Cannibals, Thanksgiving Night, and Peace; and the story collections, Someone To Watch Over Me, The Stories of Richard Bausch, Wives & Lovers, and Something Is Out There. His novel The Last Good Time was made into a feature-length motion picture, starring Armin Meuhler-Stahl, Maureen Stapleton, and Lionel Stander. His novel Peace won the 2010 Dayton International Peace Prize.
An acknowledged master of the short story, his work has appeared in The Atlantic, Esquire, Harper’s, The New Yorker, Narrative, Gentleman’s Quarterly, Playboy, and other magazines, and has been widely anthologized. The Modern Library published The Selected Stories of Richard Bausch in 1996. His honors include two National Magazine Awards, a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Award of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, The PEN/Malamud Award for Excellence in the Short Story, and, for Peace, The Dayton Literary Peace Prize. Since 2002 he has been editor of RV Cassill???s, prestigious Norton Anthology of Short Fiction.
